Ranveer, along with Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India participated in the session, ‘The Global Reach of Indian Media & Entertainment Industry’.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Thakur said, “India has a lot to offer to the world, from the cosmic world to the cinema, from yoga to Ayurveda, new India, the startups and IT hubs. The AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) sector of India has potential to grow as one of the largest industries in the world. India is a land of storytelling, and the film industry is the soft power of India.”
Contributing his views to the success of Indian film industry, Mr. Singh said, “We are on the cusp of achieving a major milestone. The stories that India tells in the form of films can travel the world and connect with the audience. We have the ability to create content that resonates with people, transcends cultures and boundaries. Our films are also important for the Indian diaspora across the world as it brings them closer to their country.”
